I offer consulting engagements for mid-size businesses and product teams working on e-commerce platforms or AI systems. These are structured, time-bounded engagements with concrete deliverables — not open-ended retainers. Architecture reviews are the most common engagement type. A team has a working system — or a plan for one — and wants an independent assessment of the technical decisions made. I review the architecture against the business requirements, identify risks and scalability constraints, evaluate the fit of chosen technologies, and produce a written report with prioritized recommendations. This is particularly valuable before a major investment: a platform migration, a new AI feature, or a significant infrastructure change. Technology selection support is a second common need. The options for building AI systems, e-commerce platforms, and their integrations have multiplied rapidly. I help teams navigate vendor evaluations, compare build-versus-buy trade-offs, assess the maturity and maintenance burden of open-source options, and arrive at a reasoned decision with clear rationale. I am not affiliated with any vendor and have no incentive beyond giving sound advice. Hands-on pairing is available for teams that have the engineering capacity but want a senior specialist to work alongside them on a specific problem: a difficult integration, a performance investigation, an AI evaluation framework, or a complex Magento customization. I work directly in the codebase, pair with your engineers, and transfer knowledge as we go. Written recommendations are a standard deliverable across all engagement types.
